【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 장애인의 안정적인 일자리와 자립 기반 마련을 위해 ‘장애인 희망일자리 사업’을 확대하고 있다.
현재 도내 148개 기관 및 학교에서 약 180명의 장애인이 근무 중이며, 특수학교 학생들도 현장 중심의 직무 경험을 쌓고 있다.
특히 이번 사업은 학교와 지역기관을 연계한 현장형 일자리 모델을 구축해 실질적인 고용 확대에 기여하고 있다. 상희학교(상주), 경희학교(경주), 경산자인학교 등 공립 특수학교 전공과 학생 약 70명은 카페 운영 등 다양한 실습에 참여하며 실무 능력을 키우고 있다.
상주 지역의 ‘카페 감나무’는 대표적인 성공 사례로 꼽힌다. 이곳에서 학생들은 주문 접수, 음료 제조, 고객 응대 등 카페 운영 전반을 맡아 실전 경험을 쌓을 뿐만 아니라, 지역 주민들과의 교류도 확대하고 있다. 교육청 본청 내 ‘에듀카페’ 역시 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 근무하는 협업 환경을 조성, 보다 안정적인 일자리 환경을 제공하고 있다.
고용 성과 역시 눈에 띈다. 경북교육청은 2025년 기준 장애인 고용률 4.41%를 달성해 비공무원 대상 장애인 고용부담금 면제 혜택을 받았으며, 최근 3년간 납부했던 약 2억4천만 원이 환급됐다. 공공부문의 고용 책임을 실천함과 동시에 재정적인 효과도 본 셈이다.
이 밖에도 경북교육청은 장애인예술단 ‘온울림’과 미술단 ‘온그림’을 운영하며 문화·예술 분야로 참여 영역을 넓히고 있다.
임종식 교육감은 “직무 경험이 자립 기반의 출발점”이라며 “앞으로도 지속 가능한 고용 환경을 만들어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
