【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대현도서관이 청소년들의 진로 탐색을 돕기 위해 오는 5월부터 12월까지 '웹툰 진로 탐색 프로그램'을 운영한다. 대상은 초등학교 고학년과 중·고등학생이다.
이번 프로그램은 웹툰 창작의 기초부터 관련 산업의 다양한 직무 이해, 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 실습까지 아우르는 참여형 교육으로 마련됐다. 청소년들이 콘텐츠 산업의 흐름을 직접 경험하고, 자신의 진로를 구체적으로 그려볼 수 있도록 하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
초등과정 '나도 웹툰 작가!'에서는 웹툰의 기본 구조, 캐릭터 표현법, 4컷 웹툰 제작 등 창작 입문을 중심으로 수업이 진행된다. 참가 학생들은 스토리 기획에서 최종 완성까지 전 과정을 체험하며, 완성한 결과물을 함께 공유하는 시간도 갖는다.
중·고등학생 과정은 실무 중심의 커리큘럼으로 구성됐다. 웹툰 작가뿐만 아니라 기획자, 편집자, 연출, 플랫폼 운영 등 웹툰 산업 내 여러 직업을 탐색할 수 있도록 했다. 이와 함께 심화된 캐릭터 디자인, 단편 웹툰 제작 프로젝트, 팀 단위 작업과 멘토링 등 협업 역량을 기르는 활동도 포함된다.
특히 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 콘텐츠 제작 교육이 눈길을 끈다. AI 도구를 활용한 콘티와 콘셉트 구상 실습, 저작권 및 윤리 교육도 함께 진행된다.
수업은 경운대학교와 영진전문대학교 교수진, 웹툰 전문 강사가 직접 참여해 실습 위주로 이뤄진다. 일부 과정은 현장 탐방과 웹툰 분야 종사자와의 만남도 진행될 예정이다.
도서관 관계자는 “창작의 즐거움과 산업에 대한 현실적인 이해를 동시에 제공해 청소년들이 웹툰 분야에서 자신의 진로를 구체적으로 설계할 수 있도록 할 것”이라고 말했다.

The middle and high school course is composed of a practical, hands-on curriculum. It allows students to explore various professions within the webtoon industry, including not only webtoon artists but also planners, editors, directors, and platform operators. In addition, the program includes activities designed to foster collaboration skills, such as advanced character design, short webtoon production projects, team work, and mentoring. In particular, the content creation education utilizing generative AI is drawing attention. The program includes practical training in storyboarding and concept development using AI tools, as well as education on copyright and ethics.
The classes are hands-on, with direct participation from faculty members at Kyungwoon University and Yeongjin College, as well as professional webtoon instructors. Some courses are also scheduled to include field trips and meetings with professionals in the webtoon industry.
A library official stated, "We aim to provide both the joy of creation and a realistic understanding of the industry, enabling teenagers to concretely plan their career paths in the webtoon field."
