이는 지난 13일 방성1리 종합장사시설 유치위원회가 "종합장사시설 문제가 지방선거를 앞두고 정치적 쟁점으로 변질되고 있다"며 "찬반 갈등이 확대돼 양주시 공동체의 화합을 저해하고, 시민 간 신뢰 훼손과 갈등 장기화가 우려된다"며 자진 철회 의사를 밝혔다.
