[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령 충익사의 밤, 의병의 혼을 상징하는 불씨가 다시 타올랐다.
16일 열린 혼불안치식에서 현고수에서 채화된 혼불은, 곽재우 장군의 첫 승전지인 기강나루를 거쳐 의병탑에 안치되며 그 정신을 오늘로 이어갔다.
특히 의병의 상징인 의병탑은 빛 연출을 통해 새롭게 구현돼 전통 의식과 어우러진 상징적인 장면을 연출했다.
어둠 속에서 드러난 의병탑은 과거의 역사를 넘어 현재의 의미로 재해석된 공간으로 시선을 모았다.
의령군은 이날 혼불안치식에서 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용해 의병장들의 모습을 구현한 콘텐츠도 함께 선보였다.
그동안 널리 알려진 곽재우 장군을 넘어, 이름이 잘 알려지지 않았던 숨은 의병장들의 존재를 함께 조명하며 의병의 의미를 확장했다.
오태완 군수는 “제51회 홍의장군축제는 반세기를 넘어 새로운 100년을 여는 전환점”이라며 “의병정신은 지금도 유효한 가치로 갈등과 분열의 시대일수록 통합과 화합의 힘을 보여주는 정신”이라고 말했다.
이날 혼불안치식으로 막을 올린 제51회 홍의장군축제는 19일까지 의령군민공원과 충익사 일원에서 열린다.
