【브레이크뉴스 칠곡】이성현 기자=국민의힘 정희용 의원(경북 고령·성주·칠곡)은 17일 칠곡군이 과학기술정보통신부 주관 ‘어린이 과학체험공간 확충지원 사업’에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 칠곡군 석적읍 꿀벌나라테마공원 내 체험관을 ‘달콤한 과학관’이라는 이름의 어린이 과학체험공간으로 새롭게 조성하는 내용이다. 어린이 눈높이에 맞춘 놀이형 과학체험시설로 꾸며지며, 과학기술 분야 학습프로그램과 상상·체험 중심 콘텐츠를 통해 다양한 볼거리와 즐길거리를 제공할 예정이다.
사업비는 국비 10억 원, 도비 2억 원, 군비 10억 원 등 총 22억 원이 투입된다. 올해 하반기부터 기본계획 수립과 실시설계에 착수해 2027년 상반기 준공을 목표로 추진된다.
정희용 의원은 “2024년 성주 과일어린이과학체험관과 고령 어린이과학체험관 개관에 이어 칠곡군에도 어린이 과학체험공간이 조성돼 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”고 말했다.
이어 “꿀벌나라테마공원의 볼거리와 즐길거리가 더욱 풍성해지고, 인근 롯데 mom편한 놀이터와 유아숲체험원 등과 연계해 방문객 증가 효과도 기대된다”고 강조했다.
정 의원은 “앞으로도 지역에 아이들의 웃음소리가 가득할 수 있도록 어린이 놀이·교육·체험시설 확충에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

This project involves newly establishing an experience center within the Honeybee Country Theme Park in Seokjeok-eup, Chilgok County, into a children's science experience space named the ‘Sweet Science Museum.’ It will be designed as a play-based science experience facility tailored to children's perspectives and is planned to provide a variety of sights and activities through science and technology learning programs and imagination- and experience-centered content.
A total of 2.2 billion won will be invested in the project, comprising 1 billion won in state funding, 200 million won in provincial funding, and 1 billion won in county funding. The project will proceed with the establishment of a basic plan and detailed design starting in the second half of this year, aiming for completion in the first half of 2027.

Representative Jeong declared, “I will do my utmost to expand children’s play, education, and experience facilities so that the region can continue to be filled with the sound of children’s laughter.”
