대전 동구 소제동 일대가 도심 속 역사와 문화가 어우러진 시민 힐링 공간으로 탈바꿈했다. 대전시는 대전역세권의 부족한 녹지를 확충하고 지역 균형발전을 이끌 새로운 문화 거점으로 육성할 방침이다.
대전시는 17일 오후 소제동 현장에서 이장우 대전시장과 박희조 동구청장, 지역 주민 등 150여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘소제중앙문화공원 조성사업’ 준공식을 개최했다. 이번 공원 조성은 원도심 활성화와 시민 삶의 질 향상을 위한 대전시의 핵심 프로젝트 중 하나로 꼽힌다.
소제중앙문화공원은 총면적 3만 4,405㎡(약 1만 400평) 규모로, 사업비 1,056억 원이 투입된 대규모 녹지 프로젝트다. 공원은 사색마당, 자연마당, 연못 등 시민들이 여유를 즐길 수 있는 공간과 함께 대나무·소나무 숲이 어우러진 산책로를 갖췄다.
