대전 유성구가 지역 청년들의 디지털 기술 역량을 활용해 행정 현장의 난제를 해결하는 ‘2026년 유성 데이터 기반 실증 리빙랩’의 본격적인 가동에 들어갔다.
유성구는 17일 한밭대학교에서 정용래 구청장을 비롯해 참여 학생 및 IT 전문 기업 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 발대식을 열고 올해의 여정을 시작했다.
이번 리빙랩은 청년들에게는 실무형 IT 전문가로 성장할 기회를 제공하고, 구청은 디지털 전환을 가속하는 ‘상호 성장형 협력 모델’이라는 점에서 의미가 깊다.
올해 프로젝트에는 국립한밭대학교와 대덕SW마이스터고 소속 청년 개발자 4개 팀이 참여하며, (사)AI프렌즈와 (주)유클리드소프트 등 지역 전문 기업들이 멘토로 나서 오는 12월까지 과제 완수를 지원한다.
구체적으로 이번 리빙랩이 수행할 4대 핵심 과제는 현장의 업무 효율을 극대화하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
당직 근무자 업무 지원 챗봇 개발 ,기간제근로자 인사관리 시스템 구축 ,안전신문고 답변 자동화 및 DB 고도화 ,디지털 시설물 관리 프로그램 개발이 추진된다.
지난 2023년 첫발을 뗀 유성구 리빙랩은 그간 보훈수당 지급 자동화 등 총 11개 행정 과제를 성공적으로 수행하며 실질적인 행정 효율화를 이끌어왔다.
특히 2024년에는 실용인공지능학술대회(AAiT)에서 우수논문상을 수상하는 등 대외적으로도 그 성과를 인정받으며 지역 청년과 지자체가 함께하는 디지털 혁신의 모범 사례로 자리 잡았다.
유성구는 이번 리빙랩을 통해 청년 개발자들이 현장의 데이터를 직접 다루며 실무 경험을 쌓고, 공공 서비스의 질을 획기적으로 개선하는 ‘일석이조’의 성과를 거둘 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Daejeon’s Yuseong-gu has officially launched the “2026 Yuseong Data-Based Demonstration Living Lab,” designed to solve administrative challenges by leveraging the digital technology capabilities of local youth.
On the 17th, Yuseong-gu held an inauguration ceremony at Hanbat University, attended by District Mayor Jeong Yong-rae, participating students, and representatives from IT specialized companies, marking the beginning of this year’s journey.
This Living Lab holds deep significance as a “mutually growing cooperative model” that provides young people with the opportunity to grow into practical IT experts while accelerating the district office’s digital transformation.
Four teams of young developers from Hanbat National University and Daedeok SW Meister High School are participating in this year’s project. Local specialized companies, such as AI Friends and Euclidsoft, are acting as mentors to support the completion of the tasks by this coming December.
Specifically, the four core tasks to be undertaken by this Living Lab are focused on maximizing operational efficiency in the field. The Yuseong-gu Living Lab, which took its first steps in 2023, has successfully carried out a total of 11 administrative tasks, including the automation of veterans' allowance payments, thereby driving substantial administrative efficiency.
In particular, it has established itself as a model example of digital innovation where local youth and the local government collaborate, having received external recognition for its achievements, such as winning the Outstanding Paper Award at the American Academy of Artificial Intelligence (AAiT) in 2024.
Through this Living Lab, Yuseong-gu expects to achieve a "two-in-one" outcome: young developers will gain practical experience by directly handling on-site data, while the quality of public services will be dramatically improved.
