【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 「충청북도교육청 독립운동사 교육 활성화 조례」에 따라 독립운동의 역사적 의미와 가치를 바르게 이해하고 나라 사랑 정신을 함양하기 위한 독립운동사 교육 활성화를 본격 추진한다.
이에 따라 도교육청은 학교 교육과정과 연계한 독립운동사 교육을 체계적으로 운영하고, 학생들의 바른 역사 인식 함양을 지원한다.
먼저 도내 초·중·고등학교를 대상으로 <독립운동사 교육 주간>을 운영한다. 학교별로 3월부터 12월까지 1주간 탄력적으로 운영하며, 대한민국임시정부 수립일, 광복절, 독도의 날 등 주요 기념일과 연계해 교과 수업 및 창의적 체험활동과 통합 운영한다.
도교육청은 독립운동사 교육 주간 운영을 지원하기 위해 학교당 50만 원을 지원한다. 교육 주간에는 교과 연계 프로젝트 학습, 독립운동 사적지 탐방, 전문가 초청 특강, 학생 참여형 캠페인, 글쓰기·영상 제작 등 다양한 체험 중심 프로그램을 운영해 학생 참여를 확대할 예정이다.
또한 중학교를 중심으로 독립운동사 교육 동아리를 운영해 지역 독립운동사를 탐구하고 실천 사례를 발굴하며, 지역 유관기관과 연계한 사진 전시, 사적지 순례, 역사 퀴즈 교실 등 지역 연계 교육도 함께 추진한다.
이와 함께 중등 역사 교원을 대상으로 독립운동사 교육 역량 강화 워크숍을 운영해 교육과정 연계 수업 사례를 공유하고 현장 적용 역량을 높인다.
충북교육청은 이번 정책을 통해 학생들이 독립운동의 가치를 체험 중심으로 이해하고, 지역과 민족에 대한 정체성을 확립할 수 있도록 지원할 방침이다.
