인구 감소로 인해 지역의 목소리가 작아질 위기에 처했던 충남 농어촌 지역에 의미 있는 법적 보호막이 마련됐다.
더불어민주당 박수현 충청남도지사 예비후보(현 국회의원, 공주·부여·청양)는 18일 자정 국회 본회의를 통과한 '공직선거법 개정안'에 대해 지방 소멸의 위기 속에서 주민 권익을 대변할 의회 정수가 보장된 것을 적극 환영한다는 입장을 내놨다.
그동안 현행 공직선거법은 광역의원 정수 책정의 기준을 지나치게 인구 중심으로만 규정해 왔다.
