국가보훈부 경기북부제대군인지원센터가 제대군인의 성공적인 사회 복귀를 지원하기 위한 ‘2026년도 전문교육기관 위탁교육과정’을 본격적으로 시작했다.
센터는 지난 20일 제대군인의 취업 및 창업 역량 강화를 목표로 한 전문 위탁교육 입교식을 개최하고, 실무 중심 교육 운영에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 군 복무로 인해 경력이 단절된 제대군인들이 산업 현장에 빠르게 적응할 수 있도록 실질적인 기술 습득에 중점을 둔 것이 특징이다.
이번에 개설된 교육 과정은 취업 시장에서 수요가 높은 분야로 구성됐다.
경기 남양주에 위치한 북부신진중장비직업전문학교에서는 약 4주간 굴착기 및 지게차 운전기능사 과정이 운영되며, 중장비 운전과 정비 실습을 집중적으로 교육한다.
서울 도봉구의 대양전기직업전문학교에서는 약 7주간 전기기능사 과정이 진행되며, 전기 설비 이론과 실습을 병행해 국가기술자격 취득을 목표로 한다.
특히 모든 과정은 수료 이후 국가기술자격시험 일정과 연계돼 있어 교육생들이 학습 흐름을 이어가며 자격증 취득에 바로 도전할 수 있도록 체계적으로 설계됐다.
이를 통해 단기간 내 취업 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
이번 위탁교육은 제대군인지원센터에 등록된 제대군인이라면 누구나 참여할 수 있으며, 1인당 최대 3개 과정까지 수강이 가능하다.
다양한 직무 역량을 동시에 강화할 수 있도록 지원 범위를 확대한 점도 눈에 띈다.
센터 관계자는 “이번 교육이 단순한 직업훈련을 넘어 제대군인들의 실질적인 취업 성공으로 이어질 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”며 “앞으로도 변화하는 산업 수요를 반영한 다양한 교육 과정을 지속적으로 발굴·확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 경기북부제대군인지원센터는 상반기 교육에 이어 하반기에도 추가 프로그램을 운영할 계획이다.
오는 6월에는 배관세척 실무자 양성과정이, 9월에는 드론 운영 실무특화 과정이 예정돼 있어 제대군인들의 선택 폭은 더욱 넓어질 전망이다.
