13일 국가로봇테스트필드 혁신사업 부지선정 결과, 대구시 테크노폴리스가 최종 선정되었다.
국가로봇테스트필드 혁신사업은 서비스 로봇 규제혁신을 위한 인증 체계 구축 및 실환경 기반의 인프라 구축으로 서비스 로봇 신시장 창출 및 사업화를 촉진하기 위한 대형국책사업이다.
해당 사업에는 서울, 부산, 대구, 광주, 경남, 충남 등 6개 광역시도가 치열한 경합을 벌여 대구시의 테크노폴리스가 최종 지역으로 선정되었으며 이를 통해 대구시는 ’23년부터 ’29년까지 7년에 걸쳐 로봇 데이터 센터구축 및 테스트필드 구축과 서비스로봇 공통기반기술개발을 위한 총사업비 3,000억원을 지원받게 된다.
대구는 기 구축된 인프라와 로봇산업 생태계 조성을 지속적으로 추진해 온 점에서 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 보인다.

이번 사업으로 대구에 국가로봇테스트필드가 구축되면 로봇기업의 연구개발(한국로봇산업진흥원, 한국로봇융합연구원, 대구경북과학기술원, 대구기계부품연구원 등)→실증.규제개선(5G기반 첨단제조로봇실증, 규제자유특구)→테스트베드(국가로봇테스트필드)→사업화지원(한국로봇산업진흥원, 대구기계부품연구원) 등 전 주기 로봇기업 지원체계가 구축되어 명실상부한 로봇산업 중심도시로 우뚝 설 전망이다.
아울러 대구는 국가로봇테스트필드의 활성화와 서비스 로봇산업의 발전을 위해 새로 건립을 추진하고 있는 대구시청 신청사와 도심융합특구를 로봇, 자율주행, AI 등이 융합된 실환경 테스트필드로 제공하고, 서비스로봇 실증 경진대회 등을 통해 새로운 서비스 로봇 비즈니스 모델로 발굴해 나갈 계획을 전했다.
권영진 대구시장은 “국가로봇테스트필드 혁신사업의 대구 유치를 앞으로 더욱 열심히 로봇산업 발전에 매진하라는 의미로 받아들인다.”면서 “국가차원에서의 인정과 격려에 대해 엄중한 책임감을 느끼며, 국가의 로봇산업 발전에 경북과 상생협력을 통해 기여할 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
한편 국가로봇테스트필드 유치가 결정되자 더불어민주당 대구시당에서도 “오늘 유치한 로봇테스트필드는 대구가 로봇 집적 산업지로서,미래를 다시 힘차게 열어갈 동력을 확보했다. 대구시민의 간절한 염원이 함께 했기에 가능한 일이었다”며 환영의 입장을 밝혔다.
아울러 민주당은 “이 같은 성과는 중앙에서는 김부겸 국무총리, 대구에서는 홍의락 대구시 경제부시장이 서로 소통하고 논의한 결과”라며 덧붙였다.
