세상에서 가장 원초적인 소리는 아이들의 웃음이라고 생각한다.
무엇이 그렇게 즐거운지 까르르 거리는 웃음소리를 듣고 있노라면 영혼의 세속적인 때가 씻겨 나가는 희열을 느낄 수 있다.
하늘에 핀 꽃은 별이고 마음에 핀 꽃은 사랑이라고 하는데 아름다운 사람들이 모여 좋은 생각과 기쁨으로 웃음꽃을 피우니 함께한 공간이 사랑 가득한 꽃밭으로 피어난다.
대덕구 지역아동센터에 있는 아이들이 ‘친환경 좋은 마을 만들기’활동을 하고 한마음 정육식당에서 고기와 음식을 함께 먹는 날의 모습이다
“여러분 오늘은 친구들과 함께 마음껏 먹고 즐기고 소중한 추억을 많이 담아가세요.” 이번 행사의 모든 것 다 아우르고 늘 큰 버팀목으로 지켜주고 이끌어 주는 최충규 대덕구청장의 미소 띤 밝은 목소리에도 진솔함과 애틋함이 담겨져 있다.

TV에서 나오는 예능의 수많은 연예인과 세프들의 먹방 프로그램보다 따뜻한 감동이 있고 울림을 주는 자리이다. 모든 시간에 피어나는 밝은 웃음과 아름다운 미소는 수많은 종교적 사랑이 어디에 있어야 하는지를 깨닫게 해준다.
유용선 회장은 담담하게 말한다. “우리는 대단한 일을 한다고 생각하지 않습니다. 할 수 있는 일의 작은 실천을 하는 거지요, ‘좋은 사람들’이란 이름에 걸맞은 좋은 일을 찾아서 하고 있습니다.”
아이들과 함께 봉사를 실천하기도 하고 연탄나누기, 집수리하기, 노인들과 함께 하기, 물품을 나누기 등 돈으로 하는 행사가 아닌 나눔의 마음을 담고 따뜻한 사랑으로 실천하는 봉사단체라고 한다.
600명 회원들 모두가 그 마음을 가지고 있으니 식탁마다 음식을 아이들 입에 담아주며 사랑이 가득한 미소로 아이들을 돌봐 주고 있을 것이다.
“소외계층의 아이들을 보살피는 일은 참 어려운 일입니다, 상처받지 않도록 차별하거나 표시 나게 돌봐 줘서도 안 됩니다. 아이들 마음과 공감이 되고 일체가 되어야 하는데 많이 부족하고 어렵습니다.“ 대덕구청 송은미 아동친화팀장은 행사가 잘 진행되도록 도와주면서 좋은사람들 회원들이 봉사활동이 큰 힘이 된다고 힘주어 말한다.

최근 사업 확장하는 일만해도 정신없이 바쁠 텐데 어떻게 이런 나눔을 실천하는지 한마음 우광식 대표에게 물어보았다.
“돈을 버는 것도 중요하지만 쓰는 것은 더 중요하다고 생각합니다. 문득 이렇게 앞만 보며 달리다보면 내 인생이 초라해질 것 같아 바쁜 일상에서 작은 실천을 해보자 생각을 했고 ‘좋은 사람들’ 임원들과 아이들에게 작은 기쁨을 주는 일을 하기로 했습니다.”
그는 벌써 다섯 차례에 걸쳐 150여명 아이들에게 따뜻함을 나누어 주었고 최근에 한국에 체류하고 있는 베트남 근로자들을 위하여 체육대회를 열고 천 명분의 고기와 도시락을 베풀고 위로해 주는 민간 외교관 역할도 하고 있다고 한다.
연예인들의 과장된 먹는 연기와 연출에 박수치고 웃고 즐거워하는 것도 소중하지만 한 끼의 식사에서 기쁨과 따뜻한 인생의 의미를 담아가는 아이들에게서 애틋함을 함께 느껴보는 것도 소중하겠구나 생각이 든다.
해맑은 웃음 속에 친구들과 예쁜 추억들이 담기며 인생에서 가장 소중한 순간들이 될 수 있을 한 끼의 식사에는 구청장, 구청공무원, 지역봉사 단체회원과 기꺼이 나눔을 실천하는 한마음정육식당 젊은 사업가의 마음과 마음들이 모여 만들어진 것이다.
