[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산의 도심이 화사한 봄꽃의 향연으로 물든다. 부산시는 오는 17일부터 19일까지 사흘간 부산시민공원 다솜광장 일원에서 ‘제6회 부산 봄꽃 전시회’를 개최한다. 이번 행사는 시민들에게 봄의 정취를 선사함과 동시에, 경기 불황으로 어려움을 겪는 지역 화훼 농가를 돕고 꽃 소비 문화를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.
올해 전시회는 ‘부산 봄꽃의 향연(Garden Go Round)’을 주제로 열린다. 농협중앙회 부산본부를 비롯해 총 40개 단체가 참여하며, 팬지와 데이지, 마가렛 등 다채로운 봄꽃을 활용해 마치 봄 정원을 거니는 듯한 기획 전시를 선보인다.
주요 프로그램으로는 ▲개막식 ▲봄꽃 조형물 및 화훼 작품 전시 ▲분재 전시 ▲화훼 창작 경진대회 ▲전국 꽃차 대전 ▲화훼 직거래 장터 등이 준비됐다. 관람객들은 전문 플로리스트의 작품부터 우리 땅의 야생화, 세계 각국의 장미, 부산 분재전까지 폭넓은 화훼 콘텐츠를 한자리에서 만나볼 수 있다.
시민들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 체험 행사도 풍성하다. 꽃꽂이와 꽃다발 만들기는 물론, 화관 제작, 하바리움 볼펜 만들기, 봄꽃 키링 제작, 에코백 꽃 그리기 등 남녀노소 즐길 수 있는 프로그램이 행사장 곳곳에서 진행된다. 특히 프러포즈 이벤트와 꽃차 만들기 등 이색적인 부대행사도 기대를 모은다.

이번 전시회의 특징 중 하나는 지역 상생이다. 시는 전시에 사용되는 초화 12만 본을 모두 부산 지역에서 생산된 꽃으로 구성했다. 또한 화훼 직거래 장터를 통해 산지 가격으로 꽃을 저렴하게 판매하며, 인근 지역 농특산물 판매 부스도 함께 운영해 농가 소득 증대에 실질적인 도움을 줄 방침이다.
행사의 시작을 알리는 개막식은 17일 오전 11시 부산시민공원 다솜마당 특설무대에서 개최됐다. 이 자리에는 박형준 부산시장을 비롯해 시의원, 유관 기관 관계자 등 30여 명이 참석해 개막 퍼포먼스와 축하 공연을 펼쳤다.
박형준 부산시장은 “이번 전시회를 통해 시민들이 일상 속에서 꽃을 즐기는 기회가 확대되길 바란다”라며 “앞으로도 화훼의 생활화와 유통 지원 등 다양한 정책을 추진해 지역 화훼산업의 경쟁력을 강화하고 농가에 활력을 불어넣겠다”라고 밝혔다.

The heart of Busan is set to be painted in vibrant colors this spring. The City of Busan announced that the "6th Busan Spring Flower Festival" will be held for three days, from April 17 to April 19, at the Dasom Square area of Busan Citizens Park. This event is designed to offer residents a refreshing spring experience while revitalizing the local floral industry, which has faced challenges due to the economic downturn.
Under the theme "Garden Go Round," this year’s exhibition invites visitors to stroll through a series of curated floral landscapes. A total of 40 organizations, including the Busan regional headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup), will participate, showcasing a dazzling array of pansies, daisies, marguerites, and other seasonal blooms.
The festival features a diverse program that begins with the official opening ceremony and continues with a stunning display of floral sculptures and masterpieces created by top tier florists across various themed exhibitions. Visitors can also explore specialized bonsai and wildflower exhibits featuring local flora alongside the Busan Bonsai Exhibition or witness talent in action during the creative floral design contests and the National Flower Tea Competition. Furthermore the event offers direct sales markets where fresh flowers and local agricultural products are available at wholesale prices to encourage community support and local consumption.
Visitors can also enjoy various hands-on activities. From flower arrangement and bouquet making to crafting floral crowns, herbarium pens, spring flower keyrings, and eco-bag painting, there are plenty of interactive experiences for all ages. Special events such as "Propose Events" and flower tea making are also expected to be major highlights.
Notably, the city is prioritizing regional growth by sourcing all 120,000 plants used in the exhibition from local Busan growers. By operating a direct-to-consumer market, the city aims to promote flower consumption and increase income for local farmers.
The opening ceremony will take place on April 17 at 11:00 AM on the special stage at Dasom Madang. Mayor Park Heong-joon, city council members, and key officials from the floral and agricultural sectors will attend to celebrate the launch with performances and a formal opening declaration.
"Through this exhibition, we hope to expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy flowers in their daily lives and increase interest in our local floral industry," said Mayor Park Heong-joon. "The city will continue to strengthen the competitiveness of the regional floriculture sector through various support policies, including distribution assistance and the promotion of floral culture."
