Mayor Kang Soo-hyun visits Korea Land and Housing Corporation
“Suggestions for major pending projects such as the ore district”
Through close communication with government ministries, local projects are promoted without setbacks... Close discussions with LH President Lee Han-jun
[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] Yangju Mayor Kang Soo-hyun visited LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation (CEO Lee Han-jun) on the 22nd.
This visit was made to expedite the promotion of 'Yangju City's 8th popular election major pending projects' such as ▲starting construction of the housing site development project in the Gwangseok district, ▲reflecting the site for resident convenience facilities (parks, community centers, etc.) in the Hoecheon district of Yangju New Town, and ▲creating the Yangju Jangheung public housing district. It was prepared as a place to make suggestions.
In a meeting with President Lee, Mayor Kang said, “Citizens’ complaints are increasing due to the impediment to local community development due to the delay in the Gwangseok District housing site development project, and the project operator, LH Korea Land and Housing Corporation, is actively promoting the ‘Gwangseok District Housing Site Development Project.’ “Will is more important than anything else,” he urged.
Next, Mayor Kang emphasized the need to reflect the site for residents’ convenience facilities such as parks and libraries in the ‘Yangju New Town Hoecheon District’ and to quickly promote the ‘creation of the Yangju Jangheung public housing district.’
The implementation plan for ‘Yangju New Town Hoecheon District’ was approved in 2008, and construction began in 2014. The first phase of the project will be completed in 2021, and the second and third phases are being promoted with the goal of completion in 2025.
About 26,000 households are scheduled to move in starting in 2022, but they expressed a lack of convenient facilities compared to other new cities, and requested that convenient facilities such as parks and libraries be secured through changes in the development plan. A request was made to Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
In addition, the 'Yangju Jangheung Public Housing District', which was selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '3rd New Public Housing Site Promotion Plan' in 2021, is in the '2022 Yangju Jangheung Public Housing District Designation Notice (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Notification No. 2022-718)'. The district plan is expected to be approved in 2024.
Accordingly, Mayor Kang called for the prompt implementation of compensation procedures for land, etc. in a timely manner according to the original business plan to prevent an explosion in the financial burden on alternative investors, such as land, on the premise of compensation when the project is delayed, and depreciation losses due to delayed appraisals. He strongly urged the project to proceed.
Yangju Mayor Kang Soo-hyun said, “It appears that there will be many difficulties in securing national funds due to the government’s sound fiscal management policy and economic changes, but we will do our best to ensure that local projects are promoted without disruption through close communication with government ministries.” .
