동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터, SMR 특강 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 지난 23일 대학 글로벌에이스홀에서 한국원자력연구원 문주형 박사를 초청해 ‘소형원자로(SMART) 현재와 미래’라는 주제로 SMR 특강을 개최했다고 27일 밝혔다.

이번 특강에는 경주시민 및 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교직원과 재학생 등 100여명이 특강에 참여한 가운데 진행됐다.

문 박사는 소형모듈원자로(SMR)에 대한 기초지식뿐만 아니라 대한민국 최초로 표준설계인가를 획득한 소형원자로 ‘SMART’의 과거, 현재 그리고 미래에 대해 강연했다.

문주형 박사는 “SMR은 탄소중립 실현의 핵심 수단이며, 특히 한국원자력연구원은 SMART 상용화와 수출을 목표로 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

이번 특강을 준비한 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터 반상우 센터장은 “SMR 관련 특강은 3차년도 사업기간 중 총 3회에 걸쳐 개최될 예정이며, 해오름동맹 지역인 포항시와 울산시에서도 원자력 특강을 개최할 예정.”이라고 말했다.

한편 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 ㈜한국수력원자력과 해오름동맹 3개 지자체(경주, 포항, 울산)의 예산 지원으로 3개 시에 소재하고 있는 6개 대학(동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 위덕대, POSTECH, 한동대, UNIST, 울산대)에서 수행하고 있는 3개 분야(원전지역 특화연구, 지역협력전략연구, 지역수용성 증진연구)의 33개 세부사업을 지원하고 있다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center holds SMR special lecture

Dr. Joo-Hyung Moon said, “SMR is a key means of realizing carbon neutrality, and in particular, the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute will do our best with the goal of commercializing and exporting SMART.”

Ban Sang-woo, director of the Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center at Dongguk University WISE Campus, who prepared this special lecture, said, “SMR-related special lectures will be held a total of three times during the third year of the project, and special lectures on nuclear energy will also be held in Pohang and Ulsan, which are Haeoreum Alliance regions. “It is planned,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center at the Dongguk University WISE Campus operates six universities (Dongguk University WISE Campus, Widuk University, POSTECH, Dongguk University WISE Campus, Widuk University, POSTECH, We support 33 detailed projects in 3 fields (specialized research on nuclear power plant areas, regional cooperation strategy research, and regional acceptance promotion research) being carried out by Handong University, UNIST, and Ulsan University.
