동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 경주형 세계시민교육 초청강연 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 5일 원효관 글로벌에이스홀에서 정진환 미래희망기구 이사장을(를) 초청해경주형 세계시민교육 초청강연을 개최했다.

정진환 미래희망기구 이사장은 ’세계시민교육을 위한 NGO 활동 사례 및 실천‘ 이라는 주제로 강연을 펼쳤고 경주시민 및 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교직원과 재학생 등 120여명이 강연에 참여했다. 강연 후에 정진환 미래희망기구 이사장은 경주시민 및 참석자 등으로부터 질문을 받고 답하는 시간을 가졌다.

정진환 이사장은“세계화가 빠르게 진행됨에 따라 지구촌에서 일어나고 있는 다양한 문제들은 더 이상 한 국가의 문제가 아닌 그 인접국가 및 국제사회에 영향을 주기 때문에 교육의 역할은 더욱 중요해지고 있다며, 공동체의 시민이 되기위한 세계시민교육은 더욱 중요하고 필요해 지고 있다.”고 말했다.

경주형 세계시민교육은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소에서 경주시와 관학협력사업의 일환으로 기획한 명품 교양강좌 시리즈로 매월 개최될 예정이다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소 이영찬 교수는 “경주 시민들을 대상으로 문화다양성, 지속가능발전목표, 국제개발협력 등 세계시민성에 관한 핵심 주제별 강의를 제공하여 책임있는 세계시민으로서의 소양을 갖출 수 있도록 지원하고자 하며, 경주의 지역인재양성과 글로컬 특성화 모델을 창출할 수 있기를 기대한다.”고 말했다.
