브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 초록우산 어린이재단과 함께 사회공헌활동인 ‘2023 산타원정대’를 진행했다고 27일 밝혔다.
산타원정대는 매년 연말을 맞아 전국 복지시설의 어린이 및 청소년들에게 소원 선물을 전달하고 문화 활동 기회를 선사하는 현대차 국내사업본부의 대표 사회공헌활동으로, 올해로 8회째를 맞았다.
현대차는 어린이 및 청소년들이 즐거운 연말을 보낼 수 있도록 32개 시설 총 1432명에게 선물 및 활동 지원을 실시했다.
올해는 소원 선물 전달과 소형가전, 생활용품 등으로 구성된 자립키트 지원, 현대모터스튜디오 고양에서의 모빌리티 체험 기회 제공 등을 추가했다.
현대차는 올해 32개 시설 1306여 명에게 소원 선물을 전달했으며, 사전 파악을 통해 개개인이 원하는 선물을 미리 준비해 의미를 더했다.
고등학교 졸업 예정으로 시설기관 보호를 마치고 자립을 앞둔 72 명의 청소년들에게는 자립키트를 제공했다. 전자레인지, 전기장판, 침구류, 식기류, 주방도구, 세탁용품 등 생활에 필요한 물품을 지원하며 새로운 시작을 앞둔 청소년들을 격려했다.
이 외에도 현대차는 54명의 어린이들을 현대모터스튜디오 고양으로 초대해 모빌리티 관련 체험 기회를 제공했다. 어린이들은 다양한 전시차량을 둘러보고 자동차 제작 과정 등을 관람했으며, 자동차 폐자재를 재활용한 업사이클링 DIY 북극곰 만들기 프로그램을 하며 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
현대차 관계자는 “복지시설 어린이 및 청소년들에게 따뜻한 연말을 선사하고자 하는 마음으로 산타원정대 활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다”며 “앞으로도 미래 성장 세대에 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 그들의 꿈과 희망을 응원하는 다양한 활동을 펼칠 것이다”고 말했다.
