브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대표를 피습한 김 모씨가 범행을 위해 흉기를 구입한 뒤 개조한 것으로 알려졌다.
3일 부산경찰청 수사본부는 김씨를 상대로 조사를 이어가고 있다.
김씨는 경찰 조사에 대체로 성실하게 응하고 있는 것으로 전해졌으며 다른 공범은 없이 단독 범행인 것으로 확인되고 있다.
경찰은 우발적인 범행이기 보다는 계획된 범죄로 보고 있다.
김씨는 특히 이번 범행을 위해 인터넷에서 등산용 칼을 구입한 뒤, 손잡이를 빼내고 테이프를 감는 등 범행에 보다 용이하도록 흉기를 개조한 것으로 드러났다.
충남에 거주하고 있는 김씨는 지난달에도 이 대표의 동선을 따라다닌 것으로 확인됐으며 지난 1일 오전 충남에서 KTX를 타고 부산역에 도착한 뒤 울산역으로 이동했다. 이후 김씨는 2일 울산역에서 부산역으로 다시 돌아온 것으로 알려졌다.
경찰은 계속해서 김씨의 세부 동선과 범행 동기 등을 확인할 계획이다. 아울러 이날 중 김씨에 대한 구속영장을 신청할 예정이다.
