김해에서 가장 많은 인구가 거주하는 북부동 북부우회도로 개설사업 전체 4개 구간 중 마지막 구간인 삼계서희스타힐스아파트~국도58호선 423m(4차선)의 개통에 따른 것이다.

북부우회도로는 삼계동 가야대학교와 국도58호선(김해공원묘원 입구)을 연결하는 연장 1,183m, 폭 25m 도시계획도로이다.

지난 2014년 7월 1구간(237m) 개통을 시작으로 2022년 3월 2-1구간(285m), 2023년 2월 2-2구간(238m)을 순차적으로 개통했다.

그간 북부동 일대 삼계한라비발디센텀시티, 서희스타힐스아파트 등 공동주택 건립으로 인구수가 지속적으로 증가, 출·퇴근시간 교통체증 현상이 심했다.

이날 북부우회도로 전면 개통으로 삼계사거리로 집중됐던 교통량이 분산되며 북부동 주민들의 교통편의가 크게 개선될 것으로 기대된다.

김해시 관계자는 “북부우회도로 개통에 따른 우회 도로망 구축으로 포화상태에 이르렀던 북부동 일원 교통량이 상당폭 분산되고 올해 10월 개최되는 전국체전과 장애인체전 주경기장인 김해종합운동장 인근 교통흐름 분산에도 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
