【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박희경 기자=영덕군은 농업인의 안정적인 농업경영을 지원하고 이상기후로 인한 갑작스러운 농가 피해에 대비하기 위해 농작물 재해보험과 농업인 안전 보험료를 90% 지원한다고 8일 밝혔다.

이를 위해 영덕군은 올해 75억 원의 예산을 투입해 태풍 및 우박 등 자연재해로 발생하는 농작물의 피해를 보호하는 농작물 재해보험과 농작업 사고를 보장하는 농업인 안전 보험, 그리고 농기계 종합보험 총 3가지를 지원해 농가의 부담을 줄인다는 방침이다.
농작물 재해보험과 농업인 안전보험은 현재 가입률이 계속 증가하는 추세로, 지난해의 경우 관내 전체 농가의 52%인 3,192개 농가가 가입해 2,256개 농가에 87억 원의 보험금이 지급됐다.
농기계 종합보험은 올해 처음 시행되며, 농업인의 선호도와 필요성 등을 분석해 내년부터 지원 규모를 더욱 확대할 계획이다.
영덕군 김기동 농업정책과장은 “증가하는 기상이변에 대비해 농업인이 안심하고 경영과 생산활동에 집중할 수 있도록 농업재해보험 사업비 지원을 확대해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 보험 가입을 희망하는 농가는 품목별 판매 기간에 맞춰 가까운 지역 농협이나 대구경북능금농협을 방문해 신청하면 된다.
