자활사업은 저소득층에게 일자리와 급여를 제공하고 자산 형성, 복지, 고용 연계 통합 지원 등 종합적인 자립지원서비스로 취약계층의 자립 기반 조성을 돕는다.
시는 올해 48억원이 투입되는 자활근로사업으로 기초생활보장수급자 등 저소득층 696명의 일자리를 제공하고 자립역량 강화를 위한 희망저축계좌 등 자산형성지원사업에 33억원 지역자활센터 운영 활성화를 위해 5억원을 지원한다.
자활근로사업은 이든카페 등 총 16개 자활사업단 운영과 더불어 차상위계층 특별지원사업, 김해늘푸른사람들 등 6개 자활기업 대상 한시적 인건비를 지원한다.
자활사업 실시기관과 자활기업 활성화를 위해 매년 자활기금 3,000만원을 투입해 참여자 교육, 4대 보험료 지원, 노후시설 기능 보강을 위해 노력하고 있으며 복지·고용 통합연계를 위해 고용복지센터와 함께 국민취업지원제도 대상자를 적극 발굴해 나갈 방침이다.
