[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 도내 지자체 최초로 저소득 장애인을 대상으로 ‘읽어주는 전자신문’ 구독 서비스를 도입했다고 26일 밝혔다.
시는 기존에도 저소득층 장애인을 대상으로 월 1회 종이 신문을 발송하는 등 정보 격차 해소를 위해 노력해 왔으며 이번 읽어주는 전자신문 도입으로 정보화 시대 신속·정확한 뉴스 전달로 장애인의 알 권리 보장을 확대한다.
이로써 관내 저소득층 장애인 600여명에게 온·오프라인 뉴스를 전달하게 된다.
읽어주는 전자신문은 저소득층 장애인에게 주 5회 카카오 알림톡, 문자로 최신 장애인복지정책, 시정 뉴스를 발송하는 서비스이다.
이는 장소와 시간에 구애받지 않고 손쉽게 뉴스를 접할 수 있으며 읽어주는 뉴스 기능으로 시각장애인과 고령 장애인의 정보 접근권이 강화될 것으로 기대된다.
시 관계자는 “장애 유형과 정도에 따라서 정보를 접근량이 상이해 다양한 컨텐츠를 담은 전자신문을 도입하게 됐다”며 “읽어주는 전자신문 서비스로 정보 격차 해소에 기여하고 장애인 삶의 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
