브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= KB국민은행은 설 명절을 맞아 지역경제 활성화 및 소외 이웃과의 상생 실천을 위한 ‘2024 설날맞이 전통시장 사랑나눔 행사’를 진행했다고 30일 밝혔다.
‘전통시장 사랑나눔 행사’는 2011년부터 매년 명절 시기에 맞춰 KB국민은행의 전국 13개 지역그룹이 비영리단체 ‘희망친구 기아대책’과 함께, 전국 전통시장에서 정육·건어물 등의 식료품을 구매하고, 해당 식료품을 지역사회 복지시설에 지원하는 행사다.
이번 설을 포함해 14년간 총 111억원 규모의 식료품을 전통시장에서 구입해 17만2000여 소외 가정에게 따뜻한 위로와 격려를 전달했다.
이날 이재근 은행장은 설날을 맞아 영등포 전통시장을 방문해 상인들을 응원하고, 소외 이웃을 위한 선물을 직접 구매했다.
특히, KB국민은행은 올해부터는 경기침체 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장과 취약계층에 대한 지원을 강화하기 위해 지원금액을 기존 연 20억원에서 30억원으로 증액하고 지원대상도 연간 3만여 가구에서 4만여 가구로 확대했다. 이에 따라 이번 설에는 2만여 가구에 소외계층에게 15억원 규모의 지원이 이뤄질 예정이다.
