윤석열 대통령이 20일 박성재 신임 법무부 장관에 대한 임명안을 재가했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
대통령실 대변인실은 이날 오후 언론 공지에서 "윤 대통령은 박 장관에 대한 임명안을 재가했다"고 전했다.
법무장관 자리는 지난해 12월 21일 윤 대통령이 현 국민의힘 비상대책위원장 한동훈 전 장관 면직안을 재가 후 두 달여 간 공석이었다.
국회 법제사법위원회는 이날 오전 11시 회의를 열고 박 장관 인사청문 경과보고서를 채택했다.
여야는 박 후보자 적격성을 두고 큰 이견을 보이지 않은 가운데 이의 제기 없이 청문보고서 채택에 합의했다.
경북 청도 출신 박 장관은 고려대 법학과 졸업 후 제27회 사법시험에 합격해 사법연수원 17기로 지난 1991년 서울지검에서 검사 생활을 시작했다. 그 후 대검찰청 감찰2과장·서울중앙지검 금융조세조사1부장·법무부 감찰담당관·서울중앙지검장·서울고검장 등을 역임했다.
