생활밀착형 국민체육센터 공모사업은 장애인·비장애인 사회통합형 체육환경 구축을 위한 울진군의 숙원사업이자‘모두를 위한 스포츠, 촘촘한 스포츠 복지 실현’국정과제 사업이다.
울진군은 장애인·비장애인 사회통합형 체육환경 구축을 위해24년 1월 공모 신청 후 3월 문화체육관광부 현장 실사 및 평가에서 높은 평가를 받아 선정이 되었다.
이번 공모로 울진군은 근남면 수곡리 종합운동장내에 총 사업비 90억원(국비 40, 지방비 50)을 투입하여 체육센터(수중운동실, 소체육관, 헬스장) 건립을 통한 생활체육시설 인프라 확충 및 주민 건강확보 등 체육환경 개선사업을 추진하게 된다.
손병복 울진군수는“반다비 체육센터 건립으로 군민들의 체육환경 개선과 삶의 질 향상에도 큰 기여를 할 것으로 보인다”며“지역 장애인·비장애인 차별 없는 체육시설 확충으로 주민건강 증대 및 시설을 활용하여 주민들 간의 교류 활성화를 도모하는 등 지역 공동체 형성에 최선을 다 하겠다”고 말했다.
