브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 농협중앙회장 강호동 회장이 23일 서울 중구 농업박물관 앞 야외농장에서 어린이들과 함께 못줄을 사용한 전통 모내기 체험행사에 참여했다.
이날 서울미동초등학교 학생들과 교직원도 행사에 동참해 전통 농경문화를 재현하고, 떡과 식혜 등 전통음식으로 새참을 나누며 올 한 해 풍년을 기원했다.
특히, 이번 행사에서는 일반인들에게는 많이 알려지지 않은 토종벼인 백석, 진안도, 흑갱, 멧돼지찰, 북흑조를 어린이들이 직접 논에 옮겨 심으면서 다양한 토종벼의 종류와 중요성을 함께 알아봤다.
강호동 회장은 “어린이들의 서툴지만 진지한 모습에서 농촌 공동체의 중요성과 쌀의 소중함을 알 수 있는 매우 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며 “농협은 앞으로도 우리 농업·농촌의 가치와 쌀의 중요성을 국민들과 공유할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 농협 농업박물관은 국민들에게 전통 농경문화 계승과 식량안보, 환경보전 등 우리 농업·농촌의 공익적 역할을 수행하기 위하여 매해 다채로운 체험행사를 기획·개최하고 있다.
