카자흐스탄을 국빈 방문 중인 윤석열 대통령이 12일 (현지시간) 양국 기업인들을 만나 "자원 부국 카자흐스탄과 가공 기술·수요산업을 보유한 한국이 핵심광물을 중심으로 공급망 협력을 강화해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 카자흐 힐튼 아스타나 호텔에서 '협력을 넘어 동반으로' 주제로 열린 '한·카자흐 비즈니스 포럼' 기조연설에서 "1992년 수교 이래 카자흐스탄은 중앙아시아에서 한국 최대 교역국이자 투자국이 됐다"며 "상호 보완적 산업구조를 가진 한국과 카자흐스탄은 경제협력 지평을 더욱 넓혀 나가야 한다"며 이같이 말했다. 이 자리엔 카심 조마르트 토카예프 카자흐 대통령도 함께 참석했다.
그러면서 "또 카자흐스탄 교통·전력·가스 등 인프라를 고도화하는 데 한국이 핵심적 역할을 하는 동반자가 되겠다"며 "시공 역량·신뢰성이 검증된 한국기업들이 카자흐스탄 인프라 개발에 더 활발히 참여하길 기대한다"고 말했다.
또 "제조업 강국 한국이 카자흐스탄 정부가 역점 두고 추진 중인 '제조 발전 전략' 핵심 파트너가 될 것"이라며 "자동차를 넘어 제조업 전반으로 양국 간 산업 협력이 확대되길 기대한다"고 말했다.
이어 "카자흐스탄 공무원 역량 강화를 지원하고 한국이 오랜 기간 쌓아 온 디지털 행정 역량을 카자흐스탄과 나눌 것"이라고도 밝혔다.
