무인수상정을 활용한 수심측정 서비스는 공단이 보유한 무인수상정의 효율적인 활용을 위해 계획·수립되었으며, 금년 12월까지 경주지역을 한정으로 시범운영 기간을 거쳐 내년 정식 운영할 계획이다.
수심측정 서비스에 활용되는 무인수상정은 방폐물 운반선박인 청정누리호의 입·출항 안전성 확보를 위해 도입된 장비이며, 고정밀자동항법시스템과 다중빔음향측심기 등 최신기술이 탑재된 점이 특징이다.
공단 조성돈 이사장은 “국가 방폐물 관리 전담기관으로서 안전한 방폐물 관리를 위해 최선을 다하는 동시에 무인수상정과 같이 공단이 보유한 장비를 활용한공공서비스를 제공하여 공공기관으로서의 사회적 책무를 이행해 나가겠다.“고 밝혔다.
