브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 공정거래위원회가 2024년 추석을 앞두고 중소 하도급 업체들이 대금을 제때 지급받을 수 있도록 이달 25일부터 9월 12일까지 50일간 ‘불공정 하도급 신고센터’를 운영한다.
추석 명절 즈음에는 상여금 지급 등으로 중소기업들의 자금 수요가 급격히 증가하는 점을 고려, 추석 명절 이전에 사건이 신속히 해결될 수 있도록 원사업자의 자진시정이나 당사자 간 합의를 적극 유도할 방침이다.
신고센터는 수도권(5개), 대전·충청권(2개), 부산·경남권(1개), 광주·전라권(1개), 대구·경북권(1개) 등 전국 5개 권역 10개 소에 설치·운영된다.
공정위 본부 및 지방사무소는 물론 하도급 분쟁조정 협의회에도 신고센터를 설치해 중소 하도급업체가 쉽게 신고할 수 있도록 할 예정이다. 신고는 우편, 팩스, 누리집 접수 및 전화 상담도 가능하다.
이에 따라 신고인의 경우에는 전화상담만으로도 비교적 짧은 시간 내에 미지급대금 관련 도움을 받을 수 있으며, 피신고인(원사업자)의 경우에도 정식 사건화가 되기 전에 분쟁을 종결시키게 돼 공정위의 시정조치 등 제재를 면할 수 있게 된다.

앞서 공정위는 지난해에도 추석을 앞두고 불공정 하도급 신고센터를 52일간 운영해 총 213건 213억 원을 지급 조치했고, 올해 설날에도 53일간 운영해 총 243건 194억 원을 지급 조치했다.
공정위는 불공정 하도급 신고센터 운영이 중소기업들의 자금난 해소 및 경영 안정에 기여하고 불공정하도급 예방 분위기 확산에도 많은 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
