올해 축제는 “다시 부는 희망의 바람, 창원 경제 재도약”을 슬로건으로 내걸었다. 고물가·고금리의 파고 속에서도 지역 경제를 묵묵히 지켜온 기업인과 노동자들에게 존경을 표하고 시민과 함께 미래 50년의 청사진을 그리는 화합의 장으로 꾸며졌다.

특히 올해는 창원 국가산단과 역사를 함께하며 창립 50주년을 맞이한 현대위아(주)와 영동기계가 수상의 영예를 안아 의미를 더했다. 두 기업은 1974년 산단 조성기부터 지금까지 반세기 동안 창원을 지키며 독보적인 기술력을 축적해온 '살아있는 역사'다.
