대전 지역 장애인들의 ‘발’이 되어줄 희망의 차량이 기증됐다.
유토개발과 한화이글스, 계룡건설은 대전시 및 대전사회복지공동모금회와 손잡고 지역 장애인 복지 증진을 위한 차량 기증식을 22일 대전시청에서 개최했다.
이번 기증은 장애인단체연합인 ‘함께 희망의 날개를’ 추진단이 주도한 연합 모금 사업의 결과물이다.
추진단은 지난해 6월부터 올해 1월까지 기업과 공공기관을 대상으로 모금 활동을 전개해 왔으며, 지역 대표 기업들의 적극적인 참여로 결실을 보게 됐다.
이날 기증된 스타리아 차량 3대는 '대전지적장애인자립지원센터, 대전점자도서관, 한국자폐인사랑협회 대전지부'에 각각 전달됐다.
그동안 이들 기관은 차량 노후화로 인한 안전 문제와 유지비 부담으로 이동 복지 서비스 운영에 어려움을 겪어왔다.
새 차량은 앞으로 이용자들의 이동 편의를 돕고 다양한 현장 프로그램 운영에 투입되어 지역사회 돌봄 체계를 강화하는 데 쓰일 예정이다.
정학수 추진단장은 "대전시 그리고 사회복지공동모금회와 함께 한 이번 차량 지원은 지역 복지 협력의 모범"이라고 강조하며, "이용자들의 삶의 질 개선에 큰 도움이 되길 기대한다"는 뜻을 전했다.
