19일 경주시에 따르면 이는 행정안전부 주관 지역사랑상품권 정책사업 공모에 원도심 상권 활성화 사업이 선정돼 사업비 4억 2000만원을 확보한 결과물이다.

이용자들은 중심상권 내 북정로, 봉황로, 중심상가 등 도심권 경주페이 가맹점에서 올 연말까지 기본 7~10%에 이번 5% 추가 혜택을 더해 총 12~15%의 캐시백 혜택을 누리게 됐다.

현재 5% 할인혜택 경주페이 가맹점은 291곳이 모집 완료됐고, 앞으로도 가맹점을 추가 모집을 진행한다.

한편 착한가격업소에서도 지난 7월 15일부터 예산 소진 시까지 경주페이로 결제할 경우 5% 할인혜택을 제공하고 있다.

단 사용처는 건강나라, 왕림탕을 제외한 경주페이 가맹점 30곳이다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 공모사업 선정으로 침체된 상권의 매출 증대는 물론 시민 및 관광객 유입 증가로 중심상권 활성화로 이어질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 했다.
