광명시, ‘탄소중립 선도도시’1차 선정

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 ‘탄소중립 선도도시’ 공모사업에 1차 대상지로 선정됐다.

지난 4일 환경부와 국토부가 함께 추진하는 ‘탄소중립 선도도시’ 공모사업은 ‘제1차 국가 탄소중립·녹색성장 기본계획’과 정부의 ‘신성장 4.0 전략’에 따라 정부, 지자체, 민간이 협력해 2030년까지 지역의 온실가스를 감축하여 탄소중립 선도도시를 조성하는 사업이다.

이번 공모사업은 지난 12월 예비대상지로 선정된 전국 39개 광역 및 기초지자체를 대상으로 온실가스 감축량을 산정한 탄소중립 종합구상 사업 제안서를 제출받아 서면 평가를 진행했으며, 최종 13개소가 1차 대상지로 선정됐다.

광명시는 ▲광명시 강소형 스마트도시 사업 연계 및 효율적 확장 ▲AI 기술 기반 도심형 탄소중립 실현 ▲시민 참여 확대 기반의 자발적 참여 ▲도심형 탄소중립 모델 구축 등을 통한 다양한 탄소중립 실현 전략을 제시했다.

환경부는 오는 10월까지 2차 제안내용 발표 등 경진대회를 거쳐 지자체의 사업 계획을 면밀하게 검토한 뒤 최종 대상지 2개소를 선정할 계획이다.

대상지 선정 후 시행계획 수립을 통해 사업비 및 국고 보조율, 지원 규모 등을 구체화할 예정이다.
