브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 효성첨단소재는 6일 오전 열린 임시 주주총회에서 정관 개정을 통해 ‘HS효성첨단소재’로 사명을 변경했다고 밝혔다.
지난 7월 새롭게 출범한 지주회사 HS효성의 핵심 계열사인 HS효성첨단소재는 타이어코드, 자동차 시트벨트용 원사, 에어백 원단 등 세계시장 점유율 1위의 제품부터 탄소섬유, 아라미드 등 미래 먹거리까지 보유하고 있는 글로벌 첨단소재 기업이다.
HS효성첨단소재의 이번 사명 변경은 글로벌 소재 전문 기업이라는 기존 레거시를 유지하면서 HS효성그룹의 CI(Corporate Identity)를 적용해 그룹 브랜드와의 일체화를 이루기 위해 진행됐다.
사명 변경을 통해 HS효성첨단소재는 HS효성그룹 주력 계열사로의 정체성을 강화하고, 글로벌 소재 기업이라는 위상을 더욱 공고히 해나갈 예정이다. 이를 위해 우주항공, 친환경 소재 등 신규 소재 사업 분야를 위한 연구개발 및 투자를 강화해 성장 기회를 확보해 나갈 방침이다.
한편, HS효성첨단소재는 이번 임시 주주총회에서 사내이사로 선임된 성낙양 부사장을 신규 대표이사로 선임할 예정이다. 오는 7일 열리는 호선 이사회를 거쳐 대표이사 선임을 확정하게 되며, 이를 통해 HS효성첨단소재는 조용수·성낙양 각자 대표이사 체제로 전환한다.
성 대표는 야후코리아 대표, 두산동아 대표, 두산글로넷 대표, ㈜효성 경영혁신실장, 부사장 등을 역임했으며, 타이어보강재PU와 미래전략 부문을 총괄하는 역할을 맡는다.
