세종시의회가 6일 세종특별자치시 첫 주민조례청구인'세종특별자치시 교육활동 보호 조례안'을 의장 명의로 발의하고 소관 상임위(교육안전위원회)에 회부했다고 밝혔다.
'주민조례발안에 관한 법률' 제12조제4항에 따라 지방의회 의장은 주민조례청구를 수리한 날부터 30일 이내에 조례안을 발의하여야 한다.
주민조례청구는 지난 2023년 9월 13일 세종시의회에 접수되어 '주민조례발안에 관한 법률'에 따라 적법한 절차를 거쳤다.
이후 의회운영위의 청구 수리 심사를 반영하여 2024년 9월 5일 의장이 청구 수리를 결정하고 대표자 등에게 청구 수리 결과를 안내했다.
회부된 조례안의 주요 내용은 교육 주체 상호 간 협력하고 존중하는 학교 문화 조성과 교육의 질적 향상 도모 ,교육 주체의 인간으로서 존엄과 가치 및 자유와 권리 보장으로 민주시민으로서 역할 함양 등이다.
