[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안성 이현준기자] 안성시의회는 안성시 보호관찰 대상자(출소자, 형사처분자) 사회 정착 관련 간담회를 열었다.
지난 9일 안성시의회 소통회의실에서 수원보호관찰소 평택지원 직원 및 법무부 보호관찰협의회 안성지구 회원들과 안성시 보호관찰 대상자들의 재범률을 낮추고, 생활 안정과 사회 정착을 돕기 위해 조례 제정 및 보조금 지원 등 방안을 논의하고자 마련됐다.
협의회 관계자들은 인근 시·군 지자체에서 진행 중인 보호관찰 대상자 지원 사례를 설명하고,'안성시 보호관찰 대상자 사회복지 지원 조례' 제정 제안서를 제시했다.
안기용 소장은 “검거와 처벌도 중요하나, 안정된 사회복귀와 정착 환경을 구축하여 범죄 발생을 미연에 방지하는 것도 중요하다”며 “지역 범죄예방의 최일선 기관인 보호관찰소와 지자체가 협력해 안정적인 지원체계를 만든다면 지역민 보호에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라 제언했다.
안정열 의장은 “보호관찰 제도의 한계와 개선 방안에 대해 함께 이야기 나눈 의미 있는 자리였다”며, “안전하고, 건강한 지역사회를 만들 수 있도록 오늘 제출된 제안서를 참고하여 조례 제정 가능성 및 법적 문제를 검토해 보겠다”고 말했다.
