[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시1%복지재단은 ‘추석맞이 행복 꾸러미 나누기’ 행사를 진행했다.
지난 11일 추석 명절을 앞두고 관내 후원 기관 30여 곳, 시흥시처음처럼봉사회 및 동 자원봉사지원단 등 100여 명이 참여했다.
시흥시1%복지재단은 지역 내 어려운 이웃들이 훈훈한 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 지난 8월부터 4주에 걸쳐 ‘2024년 추석 온정 나누기 캠페인’을 진행했다. 캠페인을 통해 어려운 이웃과 함께하고, 나눔 문화를 확산해 시흥시 곳곳에 온정의 손길이 미칠 수 있도록 힘을 모았다.
최근 고금리, 고물가 등 경기 침체로 어려운 시기임에도 행사를 통해 시흥상공회의소, NH농협은행 시흥시지부, 한국도로공사서비스 수도권서부영업센터 등 120여 곳의 기업과 단체, 개인이 따뜻한 마음을 보태 1억 8,400만 원 상당의 후원금을 모았다.
‘추석맞이 행복 꾸러미 나누기’ 행사를 위해 후원된 다양한 물품은 자원봉사자들이 행복 꾸러미로 포장해 각 동 행정복지센터, 사회복지 이용(생활) 시설 등 70여 곳에 전달됐다.
또한 임병택 시흥시장을 비롯해 오인열 시흥시의회 의장, 성낙헌 시흥시1%복지재단 대표와 이사진, 시흥시 복지국 관계자 등 50여 명이 참석해 자원봉사자들을 격려하고 감사의 마음을 전했다.
임병택 시흥시장은 “시민 모두가 따뜻한 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 나눔을 실천해 준 후원 기업과 후원자, 행복한 시흥 만들기에 앞장선 시흥시1%복지재단에 감사하다. 시민 모두가 풍요로운 명절을 보낼 수 있기를 바란다”라고 밝혔다.
성낙헌 시흥시1%복지재단 이사장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 나눔을 실천한 많은 후원자의 따뜻한 마음 덕분에 소외된 이웃들이 따뜻한 추석을 보낼 수 있게 돼 기쁘다”라고 전했다.
