【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 국가유산청 주관 ‘2025 세계유산축전, 국가유산 미디어아트 사업’에서 경주역사유적지구가 최종 선정됐다고 13일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 이 사업은 유네스코 세계유산의 뛰어난 가치를 전 세계인과함께 향유하고, 세계유산 활용 사업의 자생력을 확보하기 위해 지자체를 대상으로 국가유산청이 주관하는 공모사업이다.
이번 공모 선정에 따라 ‘2025 세계유산축전, 국가유산 미디어아트 사업’에 국비 19억원을 포함해 46억원의 사업비를 확보했다.
‘2025 세계유산축전’은 내년 9월 8일부터 1달간 경주역사유적지구를 중심으로 펼쳐진다.
‘천년의 빛, 세대의 공존’ 개막공연을 시작으로 황룡사미디어복원 및 드론아트쇼, 신라향가의 ‘동서양의 콜라보’, 세계유산 등재30주년 기념 국제학술 컨퍼런스 등 다채로운행사가 개최될 예정이다.
이어 ‘대릉원 미디어아트 사업’은 내년 4월 30일부터 25일간 황남대총, 천마총, 90호 고분을 중심으로 미디어파사드, 인터렉티브, 프로젝션 매핑 등 다양한 미디어 기술을 선보이며, 신라 마립간 시대의 새로운 방식의 역사교육 및 문화유산 향유를 선보일 계획이다.
앞서 경주시는 지난해 전국 최초로 고분을 배경으로 한 ‘경주 대릉원 미디어아트’를 성공적으로 개최한 바 있다.
ICT 및 미디어파사드, 프로젝션 맵팽 등의 실감기술을 접목해 국가유산이 지닌 보편적 가치를 실감나고 재미있게 대중들에게 알리는 신개념 국가유산 공모사업이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “2025년은 석굴암과 불국사가 세계유산에 등재된 지30주년이 되는 해이자, APEC 정상회의가 열리는 뜻깊은 해이다”며 “2025 APEC 정상회의와 경주 세계유산축전 및 대릉원 미디어아트를 성공적으로 개최해 세계 경제와문화유산의 중심도시로 세계인의 마음을 사로잡을 것”이라고 강조했다.

Starting with the opening performance of ‘Light of a Millennium, Coexistence of Generations’, various events such as Hwangryongsa Media Restoration and Drone Art Show, Silla Hyangga’s ‘East-West Collaboration’, and the International Academic Conference commemorating the 30th anniversary of the World Heritage listing will be held.
The ‘Daereungwon Media Art Project’ will then be held for 25 days from April 30th next year, focusing on Hwangnamdaechong, Cheonmachong, and Tomb No. 90, and will showcase various media technologies such as media facade, interactive, and projection mapping, and will present a new way of historical education and cultural heritage enjoyment of the Silla Maripgan era.
Previously, Gyeongju City successfully held ‘Gyeongju Daereungwon Media Art’ last year, the first in the country, with tombs as its background.
This is a new concept national heritage contest that uses realistic technologies such as ICT, media facade, and projection mapping to inform the public of the universal value of national heritage in a realistic and fun way.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, “2025 is the 30th anniversary of Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple being listed as World Heritage Sites, and it is also a meaningful year as the APEC Summit is being held.” He added, “By successfully hosting the 2025 APEC Summit, Gyeongju World Heritage Festival, and Daereungwon Media Art, we will capture the hearts of people around the world as a city at the center of the global economy and cultural heritage.”
