[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시의회가 추석을 앞둔 전통시장 장보기 및 사회복지시설 물품 전달을 했다.
13일 의회에 따르면 최근 전통시장을 찾는 시민이 줄어 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장의 상인들을 격려하고, 전통시장에 대한 인식 개선과 이용을 촉진하기 위해 용인중앙시장을 방문해 장보기를 실시했다.
이어, 처인구의 요한의집(장애인생활시설), 기흥구의 두온(공동생활가정), 수지구의 수지지역아동센터(지역아동센터)를 방문해 시설 운영에 필요한 휴지, 식료품, 세제 등 물품을 전달했다. 전달한 물품 중에는 전통시장에서 구매한 떡, 과일, 한과 등도 포함됐다.
유진선 의장은 “전통시장에서는 질 좋은 농수산물 등을 대형마트보다 저렴하게 구입할 수 있고 지역 상인들도 도움 수 있으니 많은 시민들이 가보셨으면 한다. 또한, 사회복지시설에서 생활하시는 분들이 풍요로운 추석명절을 보내셨으면 하고, 의회는 시민들의 어려움을 해소하고 나눔을 실천하는 의정활동을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 용인특례시의회는 매년 추석과 연말 폐회식 후 사회복지시설을 방문해 필요한 물품을 전달하고 어려운 이웃과 함께하는 나눔을 실천하고 있다.
