성남시, ‘경기형 과학고’ 유치 총력

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=성남 이현준기자] 성남시는 '과학고등학교 성남 유치 및 운영 지원에 관한 업무협약식'을 가졌다.

8일 성남시청 제1회의실에서 세 기관의 대표자인 신상진 성남시장, 한양수 성남교육지원청 교육장, 이광주 분당중앙고 교장이 모여 경기형 과학고 성남 유치를 위해 손을 맞잡았다.

본격적인 3자 협약을 통해 과학고 성남 유치 및 운영을 위한 행, 재정분야의 협력체계 구축을 약속하며 경기형 과학고 공모서 제출에 박차를 가하기로 했다.

성남시와 성남교육지원청은 그간 과학고 유치 통합 실무협의체에서 학교 신설을 위한 유휴부지 검토 및 ‘분당중앙고’의 과학고 전환 방식을 놓고 심도있게 검토한 바 있다.

특히 2009년부터 과학중점학교로 운영해 온 분당중앙고는 수학, 과학 교육과정 편성의 오랜 노하우와 우수한 교사진을 바탕으로 경기형 과학고 공모서 제출을 준비하고 있어 강한 자신감을 보였다.
