윤석열 대통령이 15일(현지시간) 시진핑 중국 국가주석과 제31차 APEC(아시아태평양 경제협력체) 정상회의가 열리는 페루 수도 리마에서 한·중 정상회담을 갖는다.
김태효 국가안보실 제1차장은 14일(현지시간) 페루 리마 현지 한국프레스센터 브리핑에서 이같이 밝혔다. 양 정상 간 만남은 지난 2022년 11월 G20(주요 20개국) 계기로 열린 회담 이후 2년 만으로 한·중 양국은 지난 5월 한·중·일 회담 계기로 양국 간 소통을 확대키로 합의한 바 있다.
김 차장은 "한·중 정상은 양국 경제 협력·문화 인적 교류 활성화를 위한 다양한 방안을 논의할 것"이라며 "한반도 포함 역내 정세에 대해 심도있는 의견 교환을 가질 걸로 예상한다"고 전했다.
한·미·일 3국 정상회의 관련해선 "지난해 8월 캠프데이비드 (한·미·일 정상회의) 이후 이뤄진 성과를 점검하고 이어나가기 위한 구체적 방안을 제시할 것"이라고 전했다.
이어 "한·미·일 정상회의서 예상되는 성과는 미국도 예고했듯 제도적 차원서 지속가능하고 안정적 한·미·일 캠프데이비드 선언 메커니즘 발전 방향을 확보하는 것"이라며 "올 초부터 우리 주도적으로 여러 아이디어를 내면서 한·미·일 사무국 설치를 제안해왔고, 미·일과 아주 진지하게 검토한 결과 그 성과물이 내일 발표될 수 있을 것"이라고 했다.

또 이번 중남미 순방 계기로 도널드 트럼프 미 47대 대통령 당선자와의 회동 여부 관련해선 "미 대선이 끝난지 채 2주 밖에 되지 않았고 트럼프 당선인 캠프 측에서 각 분야 주요 인선을 위한 내부 토의에 집중하고 있다"며 "트럼프 캠프 측은 현재 국내 정치 현안에 많은 시간 할애하고 있어 내년 1월 20일 취임 전까지 공식적 의미에서 해외 정상과 회동이 상당히 어려운 입장을 계속 밝혀오고 있다"고 전했다.
