브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령의 탄핵 반대를 당론으로 정했던 한동훈 국민의힘 대표가 6일 입장을 바꿨다.
한동훈 대표는 이날 오전 서울 여의도 국회에서 열린 긴급 최고위원회의에서 "지난 계엄령 선포 당일 윤석열 대통령이 주요 정치인 등을 반국가세력이라는 이유로 체포하도록 지시했다는 사실을 확인했다"면서 "윤 대통령의 조속한 직무집행 정지가 필요하다고 판단한다"고 밝혔다.
한 대표는 "윤 대통령이 주요 정치인 등을 반국가세력이라는 이유로 고교 후배인 여인형 방첩사령관에게 체포하도록 지시했던 사실, 대통령이 정치인 체포를 위해 정보기관을 동원했던 사실을 신뢰할 만한 근거를 통해서 확인했다"면서 "여인형 방첩사령관이 그렇게 체포한 정치인들을 과천 수감 장소에 수감하려고 했던 구체적인 계획까지 있던 것으로 파악했다"고 강조했다.
이어 그는 "저는 어제 준비없는 혼란으로 인한 국민과 지지자들의 피해를 막기 위해 이번 탄핵안이 통과되지 않게 노력하겠다고 말씀드렸다"면서 "하지만 새로이 드러나고 있는 사실 등을 감안할 때 대한민국과 국민을 지키기 위해 윤 대통령의 조속한 직무집행 정지가 필요하다고 판단된다"고 했다.
그러면서 "윤석열 대통령은 이번 불법에 관여한 군 인사에 대한 인사조치하고 있지 않고, 여인형 방첩사령관조차 인사조치 하지 않고 있다. 이번 불법 계엄이 잘못이라고 인정하지도 않고 있다"고 덧붙였다.
한 대표는 "만약 윤 대통령이 대한민국 대통령직을 계속 수행할 경우에는 이번 비상계엄과 같은 극단적 행동이 재연될 우려가 크다"면서 "이로 인해 대한민국과 국민들을 큰 위험에 빠트릴 우려가 크다. 지금은 오직 국가와 국민만을 생각해야 할 때라고 저는 믿는다"고 했다.
한편, 한 대표의 이같은 발언 이후 최고위회의는 비공개로 전환됐다.
