동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교양융합교육원, 제30회 WISIAN 글쓰기 공모전 시상식 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교양융합교육원은 지난 12월 12일 교내 원효관 A220 강의실에서 ‘제30회 WISIAN 글쓰기 공모전’ 시상식을 개최했다고 16일 밝혔다.

‘WISIAN 글쓰기 공모전’은 글쓰기에 대한 관심을 유도하고 글쓰기와 의사소통 능력을 강화하고자 2009년 1학기 제1회 글쓰기 공모전을 개최하였으며, 이번 제30회 글쓰기 공모전에서는 ‘나를 성장시킨 한 권의 책’이라는 주제로 지금까지 개최되었던 글쓰기 공모전 응모작들 대비 3배가량 증가한 원고가 접수되었으며 총 488편의 응모작 중 10편의 수상작이 선정됐다.

행정·경찰공공학부 김민지 학생은 '언젠가 우리가 같은 별을 바라본다면'을 통해 일제강점기 위안부 강제 동원을 배경으로 한 이야기로 용서의 의미를 되짚어보는 ‘꽃처럼 아름다운 당신을 짓밟아서 미안합니다’로 최우수상을, 간호학과 하수현 학생은 병원을 배경으로 사람들은 저마다의 인생 이야기를 가지고 있다는 사실을 담아낸 책인 '피프티 피플'을 읽고 ‘세상의 아주 조그마한 퍼즐인 우리들의 이야기’로 수상했다.

시상식에 참여한 수상자들 중 사범교육학부 가정교육과 김예린 학생은 “문상훈 작가의 '내가 한 말을 내가 오해하지 않기로 함'을 읽고 느낀 점을 바탕으로 글을 썼으며, ”이 책은 청춘과 도전에 대한 깊은 메시지를 전하며, 순간의 소중함을 깨닫게 해준 작품이었고 글을 쓰면서 자신 스스로를 많이 돌아볼 수 있었고, 앞으로 새로운 도전을 많이 해봐야겠다는 다짐을 하게 되었으며, 이번 공모전을 계기로 꾸준히 글을 쓰는 사람이 되겠다“는 포부를 밝혔다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교양융합교육원 강종임 원장은 “학생들이 대학 생활에서뿐만 아니라 인간의 삶 속에서 자신의 생각을 표현하고 소통할 수 있는 의사소통 능력이 무엇보다 필요하며 이러한 의사소통 능력을 함양하기 위해서 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기의 중요성을 거듭 강조했다. “글쓰기 공모전을 통해서 학생들이 글쓰기에 관심을 가지고 의사소통 능력을 함양시킬 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 한다고” 말했다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교양융합교육원은 글쓰기 공모전 이외에도 인성함양프로그램, 외국어몰입교육, 대학혁신지원사업을 통하여 다양한 교과 연계 비교과 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Liberal Arts Convergence Education Center Holds 30th WISIAN Writing Contest Awards Ceremony

Dongguk University WISE Campus Liberal Arts Convergence Education Center announced on the 16th that it held the ‘30th WISIAN Writing Contest’ awards ceremony in the Wonhyo Hall A220 lecture room on December 12th.

The ‘WISIAN Writing Contest’ was held in the first semester of 2009 to encourage interest in writing and strengthen writing and communication skills. In this 30th writing contest, the number of manuscripts received was approximately three times higher than the previous writing contests under the theme of ‘A book that helped me grow’, and 10 winning works were selected out of a total of 488 entries.

Kim Min-ji, a student in the Department of Administrative and Police Engineering, won the grand prize for her work “I’m sorry for trampling on you, who are as beautiful as a flower,” which reflects on the meaning of forgiveness based on the story of the forced mobilization of comfort women during the Japanese colonial period, and Ha Su-hyeon, a student in the Department of Nursing, won the grand prize for her work “Our Story, a Very Small Puzzle of the World” after reading “Fifty People,” a book that tells the story of how people each have their own life stories set in a hospital.

Among the awardees who attended the awards ceremony, Kim Ye-rin, a student in the Department of Home Education in the Department of Teacher Education, said, “I wrote my essay based on what I felt after reading Moon Sang-hoon’s “I Decided Not to Misunderstand What I Said,” and expressed her aspiration, saying, “This book conveys a deep message about youth and challenge, and it was a work that made me realize the value of moments. While writing, I was able to reflect on myself a lot, and I made a promise to myself to take on many new challenges in the future. I will become a person who writes consistently through this contest.”

Dongguk University WISE Campus Liberal Arts Convergence Education Center Director Kang Jong-im said, “Students need communication skills to express and communicate their thoughts not only in college life but also in human life, and he repeatedly emphasized the importance of speaking, listening, reading, and writing to cultivate these communication skills. He said, “I hope that the writing contest will be an opportunity for students to take an interest in writing and cultivate their communication skills.”

In addition to the writing contest, Dongguk University WISE Campus Liberal Arts Convergence Education Center operates various extracurricular programs linked to the curriculum through character development programs, foreign language immersion education, and university innovation support projects.
