대전시교육청(교육감 설동호)은 지난 18일 대전교육과학연구원에서 ‘2024년 직업계고 글로벌 현장학습 성과보고회’를 개최했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 보고회는 직업계고 학생들의 글로벌 역량을 강화하고 해외 취업 기회를 확대하기 위해 추진된 글로벌 현장학습의 성과를 공유하고, 차년도 참여를 독려하기 위해 마련됐다.
이번 행사에는 호주와 독일 인턴십에 참여한 학생들을 비롯해 2025년도 프로그램 참가를 희망하는 학생, 학부모, 지도교사, 대전시청 및 시의회 관계자 등 약 300여 명이 참석했다. 보고회에서는 참가 학생들의 현장 체험수기 발표와 국외 취업 계획 발표가 진행되어 참석자들에게 큰 감동과 영감을 주었다.
2024년 직업계고 글로벌 현장학습으로 브리즈번에서 진행된 호주인턴십에는 지난 9월 23일부터 12월 1일까지 10주간 조리, 건축(타일), 뷰티(헤어), 미디어콘텐츠 등 5개 분야 30명의 학생이 참여했다.
또한 올해 처음 시행된 독일인턴십 프로그램의 경우, 지난 10월 7일부터 11월 24일까지 7주간 레겐스부르크에서 기계, 전기·전자 등 2개 분야 12명의 학생을 대상으로 진행됐다.
참가 학생들은 현지에서 언어교육, 직무교육, 현장실습을 통해 글로벌 산업현장을 체험하며 실무 역량을 강화했다.
보고회에서는 유성생명과학고 이다연 학생(뷰티 분야)과 동아마이스터고 양정운 학생(전기·전자 분야) 등 7명의 학생이 체험수기와 국외 취업 계획을 발표했다. 이들은 현지에서의 도전과 성취를 생생하게 전하며, 다른 학생들에게 글로벌 무대로 나아갈 수 있는 용기와 비전을 제시했다.
대전시교육청은 2012년부터 대전시청과 협력하여 직업계고 글로벌 현장학습을 운영해왔으며, 현재까지 총 464명의 학생들이 참여했다. 올해는 기존 호주 프로그램 외에 독일인턴십을 신설하여 프로그램의 다양성을 확대하고 학생들에게 새로운 국가에서의 취업 기회를 제공했다.
김영진 대전시교육청 과학직업정보과장은 “글로벌 현장학습은 직업계고 학생들의 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화하고 국외 취업을 위한 발판을 마련하는 중요한 프로그램”이라며, “앞으로도 학생과 학부모가 만족할 수 있는 맞춤형 글로벌 교육 지원을 지속적으로 확대할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
