브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 미국 라스베이거스에서 열리는 ‘CES 2025’에서 구글과 공동 개발한 3D 오디오 기술 ‘Eclipsa Audio(이클립사 오디오)’를 탑재한 TV를 업계 최초로 선보인다.
이클립사 오디오는 IAMF(Immersive Audio Model and Formats)기술을 기반으로 소리의 위치와 강도, 공간 반사음 등의 음향 데이터를 디바이스 환경에 맞게 최적화해 3차원 공간에 있는 듯한 몰입감 있는 사운드 경험을 구현한다.
IAMF 기술은 삼성전자를 포함한 구글, 넷플릭스, 메타 등 다양한 글로벌 기업이 속한 ‘오픈미디어 연합(AOM)’에서 최초로 채택한 오디오 기술 규격으로, 오픈소스 기반으로 제공되는 첫 번째 개방형 오디오 기술이다.
IAMF 기술은 다수의 글로벌 기업이 주도해 표준을 확립함으로써 생태계 확장에 이바지하고, 향후 다양한 서비스로 확산이 가능할 전망이다.
삼성전자는 2025년형 크리스탈 UHD 모델부터 Neo QLED 8K까지 전 라인업에 IAMF 기술을 공식 지원한다.
삼성전자와 구글은 TV 전용 유튜브 앱을 통해 소비자들이 IAMF 기술이 적용된 3D 오디오 콘텐츠를 즐길 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
