[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 군민을 대상으로 예상치 못한 각종 재난·사고로 피해를 입을 경우 보장 혜택을 받을 수 있는 군민안전보험을 기존 22종에서 24종으로 보장 항목을 늘리고 보장 범위를 확대해 운영한다고 21일 밝혔다.
군민안전보험은 2019년부터 시행 중인 사업으로 등록외국인을 포함해 거창군에 주민등록을 둔 모든 군민은 자동으로 보험에 가입되어 별도의 절차와 조건 없이 무료로 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
올해는 성 관련 범죄 상해·피해 위로금 2개 항목이 신설됐으며 농기계 사고 보장 범위에 전동가위가 추가됐다.
또한, 개인형 이동장치 사고 범위도 전동스쿠터, 전동휠체어까지 확대됐다.
기존의 ‘개물림사고 응급실 치료비’ 항목이 ‘개물림, 개 부딪힘 사고 진단·치료비’로 변경되며 일반 병의원에서의 치료도 보장받을 수 있도록 개선됐다.

구인모 군수는 “군민안전보험을 통해 예상치 못한 재난과 사고로 피해를 입은 군민의 경제적 부담이 줄어들 수 있기를 바라며 많은 군민이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 적극적으로 홍보하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 작년 한 해 군민안전보험을 통해 군민이 수령한 보험금은 총 21건, 2억 200만원 정도이며 군은 더 많은 군민이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 매년 항목 및 금액을 조정하고 있다.
