충남 부여군(군수 박정현)이 홀몸 어르신들을 위한 충남형 공동생활 시설인 ‘실버홈’을 올해 안에 착공할 계획이라고 22일 밝혔다.
‘실버홈’은 독거노인의 사회적 고립 문제를 완화하고 생활환경을 개선하기 위해 설계된 시설로, 가정과 유사한 주거 환경에서 어르신들의 편안한 삶을 지원하는 것을 목표로 한다.
부여군 홍산면 북촌리에 조성될 이 시설은 2023년 12월 충청남도 공모사업에 선정되었으며, 총사업비 30억 원이 투입된다. 15호실 규모의 단독형 공동주택 형태로 계획된 ‘실버홈’은 거주자들에게 안정적인 주거 환경과 함께 다양한 문화 및 복지 프로그램을 제공할 예정이다.
박정현 군수는 “어르신들께서 본인이 정들었던 곳에서 여생을 보내길 원하시는 경우가 많다”며, “고독하지 않고 안전한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 세심하게 정책을 추진하겠다”고 강조했다.
이번 사업은 부여군이 한국농어촌공사에 위탁하여 진행하며, 올해 건축 설계를 완료한 뒤 오는 10월 착공을 목표로 하고 있다. 준공은 내년 말로 예정되어 있어, 어르신들에게 새로운 삶의 터전을 제공할 날이 머지않은 것으로 보인다.
