논산시가 지역사회 나눔 문화 확산에 힘입어 어르신 복지 향상에 한 걸음 더 나아갔다.
논산시는 지난 4일 하나은행 대전영업본부(본부장 김세용)에서 3천만 원 상당의 쌀 1,034포를 기탁했다고 밝혔다. 이번에 기탁된 쌀은 논산시 관내 287개 어르신회관과 15개 읍·면·동 어르신분회에 전달될 예정이다.
김세용 본부장은 “하나은행은 지역사회와 함께 성장하는 금융기관으로서 지역 어르신들의 건강과 행복을 위해 작은 정성을 보태고자 이번 기탁을 결정했다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회 발전과 나눔 문화 확산을 위해 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
백성현 논산시장은 “어려운 경제 여건 속에서도 지역사회에 따뜻한 마음을 나누어 주신 하나은행에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “기탁받은 쌀은 어르신들이 건강하고 따뜻한 식사를 하실 수 있도록 소중히 사용하겠다”고 전했다.
논산시는 지난해부터 어르신 일자리 사업의 일환으로 어르신회관에 ‘식사도우미 사업’을 도입했으며, 올해는 사업 대상을 287개소로 확대해 총 444명의 식사도우미 일자리를 창출했다. 이번 쌀 기탁을 통해 식사도우미 사업 운영이 더욱 원활해질 것으로 기대되고 있다.
