도심-전국 곳곳에 좌파-우파의 스피커 소리가 요란하다. 수만 명의 군중에 모였다고 자랑질이다. 이런 류(類)의 좌파-우파 시위에서 나오는 말의 성찬이 요란스럽다. 대한민국은 지금 좌파와 우파가 편이 갈라져 말의 전쟁시대를 경험하고 있다.
루이 장 드 생쥐스트 드 리슈브르(1767-1794)는 프랑스 혁명 때 좌파(左派)의 스피커(speaker)였다. 그는 왕정(군주제) 타파의 최선봉에 섰었다. 공포정치를 확산시켰다. “누구도 무죄로 군림할 수 없다”고 논고(論告)했다. 그런가하면 “왕(군주)을 죽이지 않으면 혁명이 죽는다”고 외쳤다. 그의 선동(煽動)정치는 먹혀들었고, 결국 루이 16세는 단두대의 이슬로 사라졌다(1793.1.21.). 루이 16세의 처형은 곧 국가의 혼란으로 이어졌다. 이 와중에 우파(右派)의 논리가 받아들여져, 군주 타파의 주역이었던 루이 장 드 생쥐스트 드 리슈브르도 단두대에서 처형됐다. 그의 나이, 젊디젊은 26세 때였다.
지난 윤석열 대통령의 비상계엄 사태(2024년 12.3)는 의회와 행정부 간의 극한 대립에서 기인됐다. 의회의 잇따른 탄핵을 견디지 못한 행정부의 수장인 대통령이 비상계엄으로 탄핵사태를 견제했다. 이를, 의회는 내란혐의로 내몰았다.
최근 전한길이라는, 역사를 가르치는 강사의 사자후는 우파들을 결집시키고 있다. 부산역-동대구역 등에 인파가 몰렸다. 서울 광화문-용산 대통령실 일대에서는 어느 개신교 목사가 주도하는 우파 모임이 성시다. 이와 반대로 노조원 등이 대거 동원되는 좌파 모임도 잇따라 열린다.
세계적인 강대국가인 미국과 중국은 치열한 기술경쟁을 벌이고 있다. 지구가 좁다면서 우주전쟁으로까지 확전(擴戰)해가고 있다.
그런데 대한민국은 18세기 프랑스 혁명시절처럼 좌우파 대결로 날밤을 새고 있다. 말의 성찬은 한번 휩쓸고 지나가면 남는 게 없다. 허전할 뿐이다. 좌파 우파들이 켜놓은 스피커 소리들은 시위가 끝나는 순간, 아스팔트에 더러운-구겨진 휴지조각들만 나부끼게 하며, 이내 사리지고 만다. 좌파-우파들이 장착해놓은 스피커에서 나오는 요란한 굉음소리를 이제 거둘 때가 됐다.
이 추운 영하의 겨울 날씨에 남녀노소들이 좌파-우파의 번드레한 말의 성찬 장으로 모여들고 있다. 아니 모여들게 하고 있다. 이로 인해, 국력이 탕진(蕩盡)되고 있다. 신성한 노동을 해야할 시민-국민들이 시위에 동원되어 말꼬리 물기에 동조하고 있다. 좌파-우파가 소리 높이는 스피커를 통해서 토해지는 말들은 영양가가 없는 뻘 소리들 뿐이다. 국가가 부자 되는 이야기, 첨단기술을 발전시키자는 이야기들은 아예 없다. 좌파는 우파를, 우파는 좌파를 비난하는 비난(非難)의 일색이다.
양기승 군산대 교수는 지난 2월9일 인터넷 저널인 페이스북에 “우파는 왜 전한길에 열광할까”라는 제목의 글을 게재했다. 그는 이 글에서 대한민국에서 현재 발생되고 있는 좌파-우파 현상을 언급했다. 양기승 교수는 “대한민국 좌파에만 있고 대한민국 우파엔 없는 게 있다. 바로 '김어준 씨'과 '뉴스공장'이다. 김어준씨는 미식축구로 치면 공격(오펜스)을 주도하는 '쿼터백'”이라고 언급했다. 이어 최근에 우파의 스피커로 등장한 전한길 씨에 대해서는 “솔직히...전한길이 누군지 몰랐다. 상산 땅 조자룡처럼 단기필마로 반짝 무예를 펼치는가 싶더니 한 줄기 바람이 어느새 사나운 폭풍이 되어 전국을 휩쓸고 있다”라고, 두 인물을 대비(對比)했다. 좌우파 대립현상에 노출된 두 인물에 대한 평가인 셈이다.
이런 시기에 무서운 침묵으로 국가의 경제적인 위기를 방어하고 있는 기업 군(群)들이 있기에, 국가가 절단(切斷)나지 않고, 침몰하지 않고, 생존의 무게중심이 잡혀가고 있다.
프랑스 혁명 때 좌파(左派)의 스피커로 일시 등용됐던 루이 장 드 생쥐스트 드 리슈브르는 “왕(군주)을 죽이지 않으면 혁명이 죽는다”고 외쳤다. 요즘 말로 번안(飜案)하면, 대한민국의 정가에서는 “대통령을 죽이지 않으면(탄핵하지 않으면) 혁명이 죽는다”고 외쳐대고 있다. 프랑스에서 231년 전 난무(亂舞)했던 정치선동의 낡은 구호가 대한민국에서 연일 재(再) 방송되고 있다.
