[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산경찰이 교차로 우회전 시 일시정지 문화 정착을 위한 집중 단속에 나서며 첫날 100건이 넘는 위반 사례를 적발했다.
부산경찰청 교통과는 20일부터 6월 19일까지 2개월간 교차로 우회전 시 일시정지 교통문화 정착 계획을 추진하고 있다.
경찰은 연제구 월륜교차로 등 보행자 교통사고가 잦은 주요 교차로를 중심으로, 교통경찰과 싸이카 등 약 80명을 배치해 가시적인 현장 단속을 실시했다. 또한, SNS와 대형 전광판 등 온오프라인 매체를 활용해 직관적인 메시지로 홍보 활동도 병행하고 있다.
단속 첫날인 20일에는 우회전 시 일시정지 위반 83건과 보행자 보호 의무 위반 24건 등 총 107건이 적발됐다.
부산경찰은 추진 기간 동안 단속과 계도를 병행해 운전자들이 우회전 일시정지 의무를 명확히 인식하도록 하고, 보행자 중심의 교통문화가 정착될 수 있도록 지속적으로 관리해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.

Busan police have launched a 집중 crackdown to establish a culture of coming to a complete stop when making right turns at intersections, with more than 100 violations recorded on the first day.
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency’s Traffic Division is carrying out the campaign from April 20 to June 19. The initiative aims to reinforce compliance with the requirement to stop before turning right at intersections.
About 80 personnel, including traffic officers and motorcycle units, have been deployed at major intersections with a high number of pedestrian accidents, such as Wollyun Intersection in Yeonje District. Authorities are also running parallel awareness campaigns using social media and large electronic displays to deliver clear and easy-to-understand messages.
On the first day of enforcement, April 20, police recorded 83 cases of failure to stop before a right turn and 24 cases of violations related to pedestrian protection, for a total of 107 violations.
Police said they will continue both enforcement and public guidance throughout the campaign period to ensure drivers clearly understand their obligation to stop when turning right and to help establish a pedestrian-centered traffic culture.
